In 2001, Athens International Airport was put into operation, and thanks to the strategic location of this air harbor, it began to rapidly expand its route network.

According to the beginning of 2018, Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos entered the 30 rating of the largest air harbors in Europe, serving nearly 22 million passengers.
