Bukhara Airport is a civilian international airport, which is located in Uzbekistan in Bukhara. The airport is considered one of the best category of terminals among the CIS countries, it is able to serve up to half a million people.

The runways of Bukhara airport allow to receive aircrafts of all classes. The airport accepts the following types of aircraft: An-12, An-28, An-72, An-124, Il-76, L-410, Tu-154, Yak-42, Airbus, Boeing, ATR and other similar aircraft models.

In late October 2011 at the airport of Bukhara began to operate another new passenger terminal that is capable of receiving up to 400 people every hour. The cost of construction of the terminal will be 14,5 million.

At this point, it carried out maintenance of aircraft of Russian companies that commit both freight and passenger transportation. Almost all flights are directed to the big cities of the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that the crash of a Yak-40 airliner in December 1974 was recorded on the territory of this airport. As a result of the disaster killed seven people. This flight made a flight from Bukhara airport to the city of Dushanbe, but during the take-off of the vehicle the elevators were stopped, as a result of which the pilots decided to interrupt the take-off. The car picked up great speed, went through the entire runway and crashed into the trees. As a result, the aircraft had the fuselage broken and its wings blown off, after which it caught fire.
