Kursk International Airport is a joint air transport node-based assets civil and military aviation. Activities of civil aviation for the first time held in 1945 year, and according to 2013 year throughput sposobn6ost airport complex is 120 people per hour.

The history of development and formation of the airport "Kursk Vostochny"

The development of civil aviation in the Kursk began with the winter 1945 years. The first airline was established on the basis of Kursk aviazvena arrived from Poland and separate squadrons. The association was based on the unpaved airfields Kursk. For airfield was allocated a separate plot of land in 1960 year. It is allowed to create the primitive airport. In 1967, the squadron was transferred to bases in the newly created "Kursk East."

Beginning in 1980, reconstruction was started, it was financed by the Ministry of Aviation. The work carried out has significantly expanded the airport's ability to service aircraft. Thus, in 1981, the main taxiway for entering the lane was completed. A year later, 16 stands were built for An-26 and An-24 aircraft. In the same year, an apron for 14 vehicles was put into operation. In 1985, 34 stands for An-2 aircraft were created.

In the second half of the 80-ies, the airfield began to use An-24 aircraft. In total, the airport owned a 52 aircraft of a different type. It is worth noting that most of the aircraft worked hard in the agricultural and national economy of the region. The company had advanced achievements in the country. Due to this, very often the planes and pilots of the Kursk Vostochny Airport performed work on the Spitsbergen and Antarctic Archipelago. Very often, other countries of the world used the services of the company, such as Poland, Libya, Czechoslovakia, and the GDR. Also, the pilots went on long trips to Africa and the countries of South America.

It is very difficult and the crisis for the airport "Kursk East" was 1996 year. It decreased the number of orders also increased significantly the price of air services. Losses were very high. To come up with this state of management of the airport started to prepare planes and pilots to single flights abroad. It was established charter flights to Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey.

Since 1998, Kursk Vostochny received the status of an international airport, which allowed serving foreign flights. This year, due to the relatively high cost, agricultural associations have completely abandoned the use of small aircraft.

As you know, most of the aircraft was designed for economic work. In addition, most of the machines have developed their resources and needed major repairs. Very large airport debts forced the sale of all aircraft. In the end, it became bankrupt.

Nevertheless, the administration of the Kursk region decided to keep the specialists and the airport itself. For this purpose, in 2003, a new state-owned enterprise was established under the name "Kurskairport". The main activity of the company is servicing customers and aircraft. Of course, there is no own aircraft fleet. Due to cooperation with Russian airlines, both charter and regular flights are carried out from the airport.

In 2008, the Kursk Region Duma decided to develop transport aviation in the region. For this 160 was allocated millions of rubles, which will expand the geography of flights.

It is worth noting that in recent years, gradual reconstructions are being carried out at the airport, which make it possible to better serve passengers and take on modern airplanes.
