Aviation Far East

The distances in the Far East, the remoteness from the central part of the country and the underdevelopment of the local transport infrastructure make air transportation almost the only viable alternative for organizing communication both within the region and with the outside world.

The potential of the east of Russia is increasingly raising the issue of development. Localities are scattered over a vast territory, land civilian transport is practically absent. Therefore, aircraft, large and small, looks like a rational way out.

In recent years, local and federal government undertook a study on the establishment of a major airline, which would be able to take the air support of the Far East: to organize transportation to the site, as well as to the center and abroad.

Aviation of the Far East today is provided by small air carriers and is not sufficiently developed to rely on loans for development. Programs, targeted funding for some reason do not make flights more accessible to residents of the region, the purchasing power of which remains not very high. On the other hand, there is a large Knevichi airport in Vladivostok, but it does not operate at full capacity: there could be transshipment points for long international flights, but large domestic carriers have their own niche, and the Far East is not so relevant for them.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, too, has not yet supported the creation of the Far Eastern branch "Aeroflot". It is a new company - a different approach: it looks more promising and interesting. But such a venture requires considerable financial resources, even if the first aircraft to take on lease. In general, this idea, despite its attractiveness, causing a lot of debate and controversy. There are risks associated with monopoly status, which will receive a similar major carrier. Perhaps, instead of creating one company, better still, to revise the system of support for small carriers.
