Chronicle of the crash of Boeing 737 "Ukraine International Airlines" in Iran
The Boeing 737 passenger airliner operated a flight from Tehran to Kiev, however, a few minutes after its departure, the aircraft suddenly found itself in flames and crashed to the ground from a height of 2415 meters.
According to Iranian media, at the time of climb, communication with the aircraft suddenly disappeared - the crew did not communicate for several seconds, after which the aircraft began to fall.
After a few more moments, when the airliner collided with the ground, it exploded, depriving passengers and crew of the chances of survival.
Preliminary versions of the Boeing 737 crash in Iran
In the background of the tragedy, three main versions of what happened were put forward:
- Engine technical malfunction;
- Act of terrorism;
- Destruction of an aircraft anti-aircraft missile.
Engine technical malfunction
The technical malfunction of the engine of the Boeing 737 passenger airliner of Ukraine International Airlines was originally put forward.

Nevertheless, given the lack of overload on board, the aircraft could continue to fly even on one engine, which raised some doubts about this assumption.

A terrorist act
Despite the initial refutation by the Ukrainian side of the fact that the plane could have been blown up, later this version was actively investigated by experts. The reason for this was a video recording on which you can see how the plane is engulfed in flames, and, according to experts, the burning of the aircraft began precisely inside the aircraft, which, obviously, indicates a possible explosion on board the aircraft.
Who and why could blow up a Ukrainian plane in Tehran is unknown
Anti-aircraft missile destruction
The version about the destruction of the Ukrainian passenger airliner by an anti-aircraft missile is currently the main one. The reason for this was the appearance of photographs with the wreckage of an anti-aircraft missile, which, most likely, destroyed the plane.
# BREAKING: I just spoke to someone who had heard to small explosions in #parand before crash of # Ukraine Intl Airlines Flight #PS752... According to what he said & the 2nd image which I have received, it seems #IRGC mistook #PS752 with a #USAF fighter jet & shoot it down by Tor-M1! https://t.co/ztFRv0dOwr pic.twitter.com/Wy9G0ODnGh
