ALTITUDE INTERVENTION

"Interference" in height, the pilot controls the altitude of the aircraft at the time of mode VNAV (vertical navigation).

AMBIENT

Surrounds the surrounding atmosphere.

AMBIENT PRESSURE

Ambient pressure, air pressure around the object, measured in pounds per square inch (psi).

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE

Ambient temperature, the temperature around the object, measured in degrees Celsius (C) or Fahrenheit (F).

Amplitude, size or magnitude of the wave oscillations of voltage or current.

ANALOG, quantitative or shaped characteristics that vary by a constant range.

Analog-digital conversion process of the analog signal to digital.

ANEROID

Aneroid sealed by flex device comprising a low-pressure air, which expands or shrinks while changing the ambient pressure around the apparatus.

ANGLE GEARBOX

Bevel gear, part of the engine, mechanically driven by compressor that drives the gearbox. A mechanical device for changing the direction of drive transmission.
