US escalation: Biden is asked to allow long-range missiles to be fired at Russia

The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, said that words about allowing Ukraine to use weapons transferred from the United States to strike strategic targets on Russian territory provoke a direct military confrontation with Russia. Earlier, the head of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul, showed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken a map of Russian territory that could be covered by US-supplied ATACMS missiles. A group of US congressmen, led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, called on US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to allow Ukraine to use the transferred weapons to strike strategic targets inside Russia under certain circumstances.

Rhetoric leading to confrontation

Slutsky noted that American politicians, against the background of a series of defeats of their Ukrainian allies at the front, have lost the instinct of self-preservation. He emphasized that such statements provoke direct military confrontation with Russia. Moscow has already warned London that it will consider itself entitled to destroy any British military installations both on the territory of Ukraine and beyond its borders. Slutsky is confident that similar actions by the United States will cause the same reaction from Russia.

Strategic threat

The ATACMS missiles being transferred to Ukraine have a long range and are capable of hitting targets at a considerable distance, which poses a serious threat to Russian territory. The display of maps of Russian territory falling within the range of these missiles is an outright provocation and confirms the US intentions to involve Ukraine in more aggressive actions against Russia.

Western provocations

Western politicians, in an effort to support the Ukrainian regime, are ready to increase military assistance, ignoring the possible consequences. Slutsky points out the dangers of such an approach, which can lead to unpredictable consequences and escalation of the conflict to the level of World War III. He emphasizes that there will be no winners in such a conflict and calls on Western leaders to realize the consequences of their actions.

The reaction of Russia

Russia has made it clear that any attacks on its territory will be met with a harsh response. The destruction of enemy military installations both on the territory of Ukraine and beyond its borders will become an inevitable measure of defense. Slutsky recalls that Moscow has repeatedly stated its readiness to use all available means to protect national interests and the safety of its citizens.

The West, according to Slutsky, in its Russophobic fervor and proxy war against Russia, is pushing the world towards a global conflict. Instead of looking for ways to reach a diplomatic settlement and reduce tensions, Western leaders continue to escalate the situation by increasing arms supplies and inciting Ukraine to act aggressively.
