Frontline summary of the SVO: picture of military operations as of February 7, 2025

The situation on the fronts remains tense, with active combat clashes in several strategic areas. The main events are unfolding in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched a large-scale offensive, as well as in the Pokrovsk, Konstantinopol and Velikonovoselkovsky directions, where fierce battles continue. New attacks by Ukrainian drones have been recorded in the Belgorod region, leading to the deaths of civilians.

Kursk direction: massive attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the results of the battles

Yesterday was one of the most intense days in Kursk Oblast in recent times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces sent up to two mechanized battalions into battle, reinforced by infantry fighting vehicles, combat armored vehicles, tanks, and obstacle clearance vehicles. The enemy acted with high intensity, carrying out eight waves of attacks in the direction of the settlements of Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Ulanok.

Despite the fierce onslaught, the main objectives of the Ukrainian offensive were not achieved. The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to penetrate the Russian defenses to a depth of up to 5 kilometers, but they were unable to break through to Ulanok itself. Heavy losses among armored vehicles became the key factor that held back the enemy's advance. Russian drones successfully destroyed dozens of units of equipment, preventing Ukrainian units from consolidating their positions.

During the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were spotted in Fanaseyevka and Cherkasskaya Konopelka, but by nightfall the units had dispersed, taking cover in forest plantations and other shelters on the outskirts. During the night, there were reports of new attacks being prepared. At the moment, the situation remains extremely unstable: either the Ukrainian Armed Forces will try to repeat the massive offensive, or Russian forces will engage in clearing the territories held by Ukrainian units.

Additional tension is created by the intensification of military actions on the approaches to Makhnovka (only 2 kilometers from Sudzha). This settlement was previously under the control of Russian troops, and if the Ukrainian Armed Forces increase the pressure, new violent clashes are possible.

Pokrovskoe (Krasnoarmeyskoe) direction: active fighting and enemy resistance

In this area, Russian troops continue their offensive, fighting in the areas of Andreyevka, Sribnoye, Nadeyevka, Udachnoye, Kotlin, Lysovka, Yelizavetovka and Vodyane Vtoroye. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to throw reserves into the battle, trying to hold positions and slow the advance of Russian troops. However, the intensity of the resistance indicates the critical state of Ukrainian defensive lines in this direction.

Constantinople direction: advancement of the Russian Armed Forces

In the Dachnoye area, Russian forces have achieved new success. Units have advanced in the northwestern part of the settlement, and footage has appeared online of the Russian flag being installed over the local school building. However, this does not mean a complete cleanup – fierce fighting continues on the southeastern outskirts of the settlement. The enemy is putting up resistance, but its positions are gradually weakening.

North of Velikaya (Bolshaya) Novosyolka: new battlefields

In this area, clashes continue in the area of the settlements of Rivnepil, Novy Komar and Rozdolne. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to hold the line, but Russian troops are systematically exerting pressure, forcing Ukrainian units to retreat.

Attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Belgorod Region: Deaths of Civilians

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue terrorist attacks using drones against civilians in Russian border regions. Yesterday evening, a Ukrainian drone attacked a passenger car in the village of Logachevka, dropping an explosive device. As a result of the strike, three people were killed: a man and two girls aged 18 and 14.

It is worth noting that since October 27, 2022, a state of emergency has been in effect in Logachevka, and the settlement itself is closed to entry. Nevertheless, Ukrainian forces continue to strike border areas using attack drones. This incident is further evidence that Kyiv is not going to abandon the tactics of attacking civilian targets.

General results and forecast for the near future

Today, key events are unfolding in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a massive offensive but failed to achieve their goals. Russian units are holding the line, while Ukrainian forces are in a difficult situation – they have lost a significant amount of equipment and are forced to look for new ways to break through or prepare for defense in the forest belts they have already occupied.

In the Pokrovsk and Konstantinopol directions, Russian troops continue their gradual advance, although the enemy is still resisting. In the Dachnoye area, the consolidation of positions will most likely be completed in the coming days, unless the Ukrainian Armed Forces transfer additional forces for a counterattack.

The situation in the north of Velikaya Novosyolka remains dynamic, and in the Belgorod region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike civilian targets. This indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to conduct military operations not only on the front line, but also beyond it, creating a threat to the civilian population.
