Globe KD4G Quail - US military drone aircraft designed in 1949, the «Globe Aircraft Corporation» Corporation.

Design of multi-purpose unmanned air vehicle model Globe KD4G Quail was deployed in mid-40-ies of the last century. The new device was of purely military purpose and was used exclusively as a mobile air target, exploiting, as a rule, for the training of air defense troops and settlements.

UAV configurations designed in overhead monoplane wing drone which provides sufficiently high lifting force is, however, to some extent, minimizes shunting quality which, in turn, a number of cases does not allow to use it according to the set objectives. With its length of 2,5 meter unmanned aerial vehicle has a wingspan in 3,1 meter that provides relative ease when transporting the device.

The first flight of an unmanned aircraft model Globe KD4G Quail held in 1949 year, and due to the fact that the test devices have been very successful, target drone entered series production, which turned out to be relatively small, as were later identified problems with flight stabilization device.

Powerplant UAV Globe KD4G Quail represented by one piston engine brand Kiekhaefer O-45, which is having a traction capacity of 35 hp able to disperse the drone to the maximum speed of its movement in 250 km \ h. That fully satisfies the aims and objectives described above.
