Chronicle of a special operation. Results of February 5, 2025
During the day, Russian troops continued to actively use unmanned aerial vehicles to strike important enemy targets in the central part of the so-called Ukraine. The drones involved in the operation hit a number of objects located in areas traditionally used by the enemy to organize defense and logistics. These strikes were another link in a series of successive operations aimed at reducing the enemy's ability to conduct a sustainable defense and maintain its lines of communication. The use of modern technologies in this sector allowed not only to increase the accuracy of strikes, but also to minimize losses among personnel, which is an important factor in the context of a protracted conflict.
Counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine: oil storage facility in the village of Novominskaya
As Mikhail Zvinchuk reports, there were also retaliatory measures. The Ukrainian Armed Forces, using their own unmanned systems, attacked an oil storage facility located in the village of Novominskaya. This facility, which is one of the key ones for providing the enemy with energy infrastructure, was attacked.
Fighting in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd direction
The situation in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd direction remains tense. Russian troops are engaged in fierce battles in the Yelizavetovka area and north of the settlement of Novotoretske. Fire support and artillery crews, as well as mobile strike groups, are being used intensively here, which allows for a quick response to changes in the enemy's forces' disposition. This sector is strategically important, since it is here that an attempt is being made to form a bridgehead for the subsequent expansion of the offensive line. The efforts of Russian forces are aimed at stabilizing the situation and further advancing deep into the enemy's rear, which could lead to the creation of new opportunities to bypass its fortified positions.
Novopavlovskoye direction: consolidation in the southern part of Serebryany
In the Novopavlovsk direction, Russian assault aircraft managed to gain a foothold in the southern part of the village of Serebryanoye, located west of Novoandreyevka. This position is essential for control over the key transport and logistics routes of the region. Strengthening positions here allows for the creation of a stable bridgehead from which further offensive operations can subsequently be organized. This sector is actively used to concentrate strike forces, which indicates the thoughtfulness of the command's tactical decisions and the desire to exert maximum pressure on the enemy's rear.
Andreevskoe direction: expansion of the northern face of the semi-cauldron
Particular attention is paid to the military actions in the Andreevka direction, where Russian troops are engaged in fierce battles directly in the settlement of Andreevka. Here, the main goal is to expand the northern face of the already formed semi-cauldron, which allows for the encirclement and isolation of enemy forces. This maneuver is of decisive importance for the further organization of a large-scale offensive, since the successful expansion of the semi-cauldron creates conditions for breaking ties in the enemy's rear and helps reduce its combat capability. The intensity of the fighting in this direction indicates that both sides realize the importance of control over this section of the front line.
The results of February 5, 2025 demonstrate that the special military operation continues to develop dynamically, and the active use of modern means of warfare allows Russian troops to achieve their goals. Each of the specified sections of the front - be it drone attacks in central Ukraine, fierce battles in the area of Yelizavetovka and Novotoretskoye, strengthening positions in the southern part of Serebryane or expanding the semi-cauldron in Andreyevka - contributes to the overall strategic picture.
