The Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after Chkalov V. P. is an aircraft-building organization located in the city of Novosibirsk.

History

31.07.1931, on the outskirts of the city of Novosibirsk, a mining plant was founded, and by decree of the Defense and Labor Council in 1936, the plant was given a completely new vector of development - aircraft construction. 04.11.1937 on the territory of the plant, the first built AND-16 rose into the air. Then such famous aircraft brands as Yak-7, Yak-3, Yak-9 were built.

In December 1939, the plant was given the name Chkalov Valery Pavlovich, Hero of the Soviet Union.

During the period of the Great Patriotic War, every third Yak fighter built in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics flew out of factory workshops and hangars. During the war years, the plant practically released up to thirty-three aircraft almost every day (that is, in one day, a whole regiment).

The plant in the post-war years produced jet interceptors, fighters MiG-17, MiG-15, Yak-28P, MiG-19. The enterprise, formerly known as Plant No. 153 or NAZ (Novosibirsk Aviation Plant), began its close cooperation with the Sukhoi experimental design bureau and, since the end of the 50, produced Su-11, Su-9 and Su-15.
