NUAA Gull - Chinese multifunctional ornithopter, designed by scientists from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

The Chinese multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle model NUAA Gull is positioned as an experimental multifunctional aircraft. Although this device has obvious limitations in terms of its operation, the drone has ample opportunities, in particular, it concerns the implementation of scientific research (ornithology), the implementation of observational and patrol flights, the study of aerodynamics, etc. In fact, because of the specificity of this device , It does not enjoy great attractiveness, however, until now it continues to be produced, however, exclusively for existing orders and needs.

The Chinese unmanned experimental ornithopter is represented by specialists from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in the configuration of the flywheel, and although in this case it was not possible to achieve high maneuverability by the scientists, the NUAA Gull itself has rather small dimensions. Due to this configuration, the Chinese airframe of the NUAA Gull model has a rather poor flight stabilization, however, the designers have foreseen a steaming mode in the device, and therefore the drone can remain in flight for a long time.

An unmanned experimental ornithopter is equipped with two electric motors, one of which provides wings for the wing, while the other manages the flight of this aircraft. The maximum flight speed of this device is 35 km / h, and the autonomy of being in the air is limited to 25 minutes.
