Having made the conquest of the air space with the help of special machines, the beginning of a new era of humanity - to overcome huge distances at high speeds. Considerable contribution to the development of the aircraft industry invested Ukrainian scientists. The first of them was Igor Sikorsky. About 90% of helicopters in the world constructed by the scheme KPI graduate. A production of aircraft Antonov ASTC whole world knows. That AN-124 «Ruslan" and AN-225 «Mriya" are masterpieces of world aircraft. They have no analogues.

"Flyer-1» - the first manned motorized machine that could fly 37 meters with a period of 12 seconds. His brothers carried Wilbur and Orville Wright, and thereby opened a new stage in the development of mankind.

After that practically all advanced countries began to contribute to the development of air. Similarly, work was carried out in Tsarist Russia. The first steps in Ukraine were committed to the KPI in 1899. Initially, this occupation was considered a "hobby" for individual enthusiasts, but eventually it began to gain unimaginable turns. The creation of the fifth aeronautical department began. It was headed by N. Artemov. In the period from 1905 to 1906 year under the KPI organized aeronautical section. A year later in November, the aeronautical circle was reorganized into sections of helicopters, airplanes, engines and ornithopters. In 1908, Professor Artemiev began to conduct experiments with a fly propeller model. And in the winter tests of large models of gliders began. They were launched with a catapult.

A year later, in the spring, Professor Delone with his sons and familiar teachers from KPI, Garf and Ganitsky, built the first glider. It was a balancing controlled biplane. Three more gliders were designed. At this time, the circle numbered more than 200 members, among which were future aviators - Bylinkin, Adler, Karpek and Sikorsky. During the period from 1909 to 1912, more than 40 different aircraft machines were built. In June, 1910, the domestic aircraft made its first flight. All parts, except the engine, were made in Ukraine. The chief designer and pilot was A. Kudashev.

The founders of Ukrainian aviation consider the natives of Cherkassy - brothers Kasyanenko. In the period from 1910 to 1921, under their leadership, six aircraft were built in the KPI. Their most outstanding creation was Kasyanenko-4, a monoplane with a low-powered engine. In addition, the brothers were engaged in the design of propellers. An outstanding figure in Kiev at that time was considered D. Grigorovich, and after a while he became a famous Soviet aircraft designer. Parallel to the construction of the bi-monoplane with the Hacke engine, the student Jordan was involved in the KPI. He built the plane on his own. The project was promising, but due to lack of funds, the work stopped at the end of 13.

Konstantin Kalinin in 1922 year designed the first mass-produced aircraft K-1. The series was reproduced at the Kharkov aircraft factory. The subsequent K-4 and K-5 about 20 years were the main passenger aircraft of the USSR. A native of the city of Zhytomyr, S. Korolev also studied at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. In 1928, he designed the KPIR-3 glider. He also became the founder of the idea of a jet engine. A. Mikulin many years after the end of the CPI created engines for aircraft, which became famous pilots Gromov and Chkalov, flying over the North Pole. The largest aircraft of that time, Maxim Gorky, also took off on Mikulin's engines. Its engines were installed on IL-2, Pe-8 and Tu-104. The idea and practice of creating a turbocharger jet engine belongs to A. Lyulke.

History of the Air Force of Ukraine begins with 1918 year period of creation of the UPR. Zaporizhia aeronautic aircraft squadron accrued 40. One of the most prominent Ukrainian pilots who fought during WWII, was Ivan Kozhedub - three times Hero of the Soviet Union. He has 62 aerial victories. It is considered the number one among the ace pilots in the Soviet Union. With Gritsevets won 40 aerial victories, and has twice been awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

To date, the Ukrainian Air Force consists of 5 types of aircraft. These include air corps, training centers and individual personnel division. The centers are preparing the Kiev Institute of the Air Force and the Kharkiv Institute of pilots.

At the moment, 40 high-tech organizations and enterprises are operating in Ukraine, which are united in the country's aerospace industry. All specialists are trained in 5 educational institutions, the main of which is considered to be the ANTK. O. Antonova. From the time of its foundation (1946 year) to now, more than 20 types of military transport, passenger and special aircraft have been designed at ANTK. In addition, about 100 modifications of aircraft were produced. The most famous world creation is AN-225 "Mriya". This is the largest aircraft in the world. Before him was Antonov's giant - An-124 "Ruslan". In terms of the military industry, the Antonovites developed An-70, a military transporter of short take-off and landing. A promising project is the development of an AN-140 passenger aircraft. The prospect is price, because it is much cheaper than foreign analogues.

Ukraine is among the countries 9 with full cycle of production aircraft. Taking this into account, to the outside world market maintained a large flow of aircraft. But much of the exports of machinery refers to the aircraft removed from the country's weapons. The main disadvantage in this situation is that the majority of copies sold - the best technical condition. Because of this, the country's defense falls catastrophically.

The most basic transactions for the sale of aircraft during 2000-ies are:

- MiG 27M - 6 units in Sri Lanka;

- 2005-2012 year - 50 UAV BP-3 «Race», 231 military aircraft and helicopters.

"Mriya" - the same "Ukrainian" aircraft, as, for example, the Il-86 - "Russian". These are all equipment produced in a completely different country. For those who do not know anything about aircraft construction.

The aircraft "in storage" is 80% junk that is not capable of flying ...
