A soldier from the Foreign Legion complained that it was easier to fight in Iraq than in Ukraine

Former British soldier and Iraq War veteran Christopher Perryman, who is currently fighting in the Foreign Legion for Ukraine, spoke about his experience of fighting in this conflict. In an interview for The Spectator, he noted that it is not worth comparing the complexity of hostilities in Iraq and in Ukraine, since the situation in Ukraine is much more complicated.

Christopher Perryman shared information that any detachments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that enter the territory near the Dnieper are subject to continuous artillery fire, as Russian drones conduct constant reconnaissance of the area. He also noted that the Russian gunners are highly trained and "damn good."

The veteran stressed that his stay in Ukraine is the hardest service he has ever done. Each sortie is associated with difficult conditions and great risks due to constant Russian fire. He complains that the Russians know that the only place they can hide is at home, and if they are defeated, they will have nowhere to go.
