MACH NUMBER

Mach number ratio of true air speed of the aircraft to the speed of sound at this point.

MACH TRIM

Balancing Mach, an amendment to the spatial position of the aircraft (nose up) during flight at high speed, using the horizontal stabilizer.

MAGNETIC HEADING

Magnetic course, the course of the aircraft relative to magnetic north.

MAGNETIC VARIATION

Magnetic declination, the difference between magnetic and true north.

MAIN ENGINE CONTROL

The main control engine, engine component for controlling the flow of fuel to start and run the engine.

MAINTENANCE

OPERATION, work done to maintain the structures and systems of the aircraft. It includes: inspection, overhaul, repair, storage and replacement of parts.

MANIFOLD

Collector pipe or a camera with a variety of input and output channels of delivery of air or liquid.

MANIFOLD INTERCONNECT VALVE

CONNECTING VALVE MANIFOLD valve equipment in the cooling system to ensure the proper flow of recirculated air in the cabin. Under specific conditions, he will supply conditioned air.

MANUAL OPERATION

Manual control method of controlling the component manually.

MANUALS - manuals, books with instructions for the proper maintenance and management of aircraft systems.

MANUFACTURED RIVET HEAD

OTFABRIKOVANNAYA rivet head, the rivet head which was preformatted in advance during its manufacture (see-upset head).

MASS

WEIGHT, physical characteristic of matter, which is a measure of its inertia (regardless of location on the ground). Gravitational mass gives the weight (or rather the force of gravity).

MASS MEMORY

Disk storage, memory, which can store large amounts of information and keep it constant.

MASTER (MPS)

Main, leading, device or system which controls the mode of the control system.

MAX CLIMB THRUST

Maximum thrust CLIMB, maximum engine thrust, used during the climb.

MAX CONTINUOUS THRUST

The maximum duration of traction, the maximum continuous thrust engine used continuously when one engine is not running.

MAX GO-AROUND THRUST

Maximum thrust of the missed approach, the maximum thrust of the engine used during the maneuver missed.

MEAN AERODYNAMIC CHORD

Mean aerodynamic chord, a reference measurement at a certain location of the aircraft used for finding the center of gravity.

MEMORY

Memory in digital memory system called the place where information is stored.

METER

METER, mechanical or electrical device which is used to record, display, measurement or detection of a certain part of management.

METERING VALVE

Metering valve, the valve to control the flow of air or liquid.

MICRON

Micron is used to measure permeability of the filter. One micron is equal to 0,000001 meters.

MIDDLE MARKER

MIDDLE markers, marker beacon, which determines the point on the glide path during approach by ILS. Typically located at or near the point of decision height.

MEC (No.1), sm.-MAIN ENGINE CONTROL.

MEC (No.2), sm.-MAIN EQUIPMENT CENTER.

MEL, sm.-MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST.

MAX TAKEOFF THRUST

Maximum thrust at takeoff, the maximum thrust of the engine used during take-off.

MICRO SWITCH

MICRO, miniature mechanical device that opens or closes the passage of electric current.

MIL

MIL, 0,001 inches.

MILLIBARS

Millibars, the unit of measurement of barometric pressure, which is equal to approximately 0,75 mmHg

MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST

LIST OF EQUIPMENT minimum allowed, a document describing the work of the aircraft with certain inoperative systems and subsystems.

MISSED APPROACH

LOST during landing maneuver, conducted a pilot when landing the instrument can not be completed prior to landing and causes to go to approach the second round.

MIX VALVE

Mixing valve, the valve assembly having two or more individual valves used to deliver the air flow in the air conditioning system.

MMO

IMO, the maximum Mach number at which the aircraft can be controlled.

MODE, A specific operating state or condition; ie, Autopilot mode, MAP mode, etc.

MODE, specific state of operation or condition; eg autopilot mode MAP (map), etc.

MIKE, or MIC, the word soraschenie microphone.

MODULATION

MODULATION combination of two or more electrical signals from the result, when a signal changes in proportion to the other.

MODULES

BLOCK body, which contains system-related components.

MONOCOQUE

Monocoque type structure in which the fuselage skin carries a full workload.

MONOPOLE

SPEED SENSOR speed sensor which senses pulsating magnetic field on the magnetic gear tooth or nut on the shaft. These pulses are converted as the speed of rotation per minute, by the controller.

MOTOR OPERATED VALVE

Valves controlling motors, valves, using an electric motor for opening, closing, or modulate.

MUFFLER

MUFFLER device in a pneumatic system for reducing the noise of the air flow through the air nozzle.

MULTIPLEXER

A multiplexer, a device that can encode two or more analog signals sequentially loaded only one input channel, the communication channel or data bus.
