In February 1972, in connection with the initiative and support of the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Soviet Union B.P. Bugaev. and with the active participation of B.E. Panyukov, a member of the board of the MGA of the Soviet Union, made a decision, which was formalized by order number 61 of the Minister of 23.02.1972/1/1972 on the creation of the Leningrad Technical Aviation School of Civil Aviation (LATU GA), and the start of the preparation of the specialty "Organization of air transportation", which was assigned the qualification "technician -technologist". The opening of the school meant the beginning of classes and the recruitment of cadets from September XNUMX, XNUMX. In such a tight time frame, it was necessary to design fundamentally new curricula, at that time there were no analogues of such a program in civil aviation educational institutions.

You must also be prepared dormitory, classrooms on 150 cadets, dining room, gym.

Nevertheless, the main difficulties were ahead, since the training profiles of the cadets of the school and the students of the VAU did not coincide and all specialized classrooms, classrooms and laboratories had to be equipped anew. This difficult and voluminous work with the beginning of the academic year began the collective of the school, as well as students.

In order to cover all aspects of the training of aviation personnel, which are associated with the direct service of customers and passengers, not only in the air, but also on the ground, the issue of training flight attendants was studied. For the first time in the civil aviation of the Soviet Union in 1976, the training of flight attendants was organized on the basis of the school.

School at the end of 80-ies of the twentieth century, however, as the entire civil aviation sector, has faced some difficulties: the distribution of graduates, financing, elimination of the military cycle for the preparation of reserve officers VOSO, the organization practices.

In 1994, the school began training in the specialty "Air traffic control".

Considering the high quality of educational and methodological work and positive work experience, in 1995 the school was renamed by order number DV-98 dated 18.09.1995/XNUMX/XNUMX of the Department of Air Transport and the Ministry of Transport of Russia, into the Transport and Aviation College of Civil Aviation (SPATK Civil Aviation).

In 1997, the college became the developer of the educational State Standard (SES) in the specialty 2401 "Air Transport Management and Organization of Transportation" and in the specialty 2402 "Air Transport Movement Management". Such educational standards are mandatory for all specialized secondary institutions of the industry that provide training in these specialties. The established practice has shown that it is necessary to implement a much wider coverage of aviation specialists, that is, to introduce specializations in these areas of work of aviation personnel.

In college, in 1997, began preparing for the specialty "Service in transport". The training took place in the following specializations:

Service on board an aircraft of passengers;

In air transport security;

Certification and licensing of aviation works, services and transportation;

Sale and booking of air services and transportation;

Business airports and airlines.

College 2001 year, one of the first educational institutions of the sector, has been accredited by the state to conduct activities in the field of education. At the same time, the State Examination Commission noticed a high correlation estimates, exposed the teachers college at quizzes on specific academic disciplines, with estimates that are put on the same subjects, experts state certifying commission.

In 2003 we opened the specialty “Hotel service”.

By order number A70-324 of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Federal Agency for Air Transport), the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated 01.12.2005, the college was renamed into the St. Petersburg Transport and Aviation School of Civil Aviation named after Chief Marshal of Aviation Novikov Alexander Alexandrovich. A memorial plaque with a bas-relief by A.A. Novikov was installed in the educational building. and a commemorative inscription.
