The late start of production of the Aerospatiale SA 360 Dauphin helicopters was associated with the need to expand the functionality of the aircraft, initiated by the management of Aerospatiale.

With its appearance, the Aerospatiale SA 360 Dauphin aircraft only vaguely resembles the Aerospatiale Alouette III model, in particular, this applies more to the large glass cockpit.
