Weapons for the future of aviation. From theory to practice.

Military aircraft, developed high-tech countries, changing for the better almost every subsequent year, thus, are not only modern aircraft and technology, greatly enhance and improve their flight-technical, tactical and strategic quality.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that, in fact, over the past 20-35 years, the weapons used by the Air Force have not undergone changes, and therefore, it is logical to assume that significant breakthroughs will be made in this area in the near future, and information portal Avia.pro suggested several modern weapons systems for aviation of the future, which may appear and find their application in the near future.

Gauss Cannon

The Gauss cannon, or the so-called electromagnetic mass accelerator, is currently a very well-known development, however, the operation of this type of weapon is not being carried out due to the actually low efficiency, which is about 27%. The principle of its operation is based on the fact that the projectile is subjected to powerful impulse acceleration due to the magnetic field. Nevertheless, the use of such a gun requires at least a powerful source of energy, as well as significant changes made to the design of existing prototypes.

The most significant advantage of Gauss is the actual reliability and the ability to adjust the initial velocity and energy of the departure of the projectile, which may be different without changing their caliber barrel.

Laser weapons

Laser weapons have been used in the Air Force United States, thus, this type of weapon is very powerful, but not effective enough due to low performance. Furthermore, the firing of the laser gun is only possible if the object on which the light is conducted, is relatively fixed, which is very problematic to achieve.

The use of laser weapons in all probability it will be possible in a broad sense, only after it finds the most suitable for power, and provides a quick recharge.

The electromagnetic transducer

According to the conducted research, electromagnetic weapons today is one of the most effective ways to combat aircraft. In particular, it is noted that in the case of a large and powerful electromagnetic pulse electronic systems, which are the basis for all modern aircraft, is simply out of order, without actually damaging it but causing maximum damage.

In 70-ies of the last century, the Soviet command of air defense has tested missiles "ground-to-air" mounted with small warheads is equipped with low-yield nuclear warheads. The whole point of the test was limited to the fact that the missile was launched into the air and automatically exploded in the immediate vicinity (up to several kilometers) from a group of combat planes, thus giving rise to an electromagnetic pulse attack all enemy electronic systems.

It is possible that in the near future can be developed a special installation, sending direction of the magnetic momentum, leading to the elimination of the enemy without his immediate destruction.

To date, all the arms given above has been tried, and in theory can be installed on the aircraft, however, in practice this has not been realized, although certain advantages to be had from it.
