The Vyborg Technical Aviation School of Civil Aviation named after Marshal Zhavoronkov is one of the oldest specialized secondary educational institutions of civil aviation. He turned 60 in November 2009. As a civil educational institution, the school has been considered since 1960 in the form of the legal successor of the Air Force Technical Aviation School.
Since 2007, the school has been a part of the educational complex together with the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation as a branch. Until 1993, the school graduated only aviation mechanics-technicians. Now the school is a modern polytechnic educational institution that provides vocational secondary education in the following specialties:
- Technical operation of engines and aircraft;
- Technical operation of flight-navigation and electrified complexes.
