"Vityaz" - medium-range anti-aircraft missile system, which is in service with air defense. The C-350 50 Р6А series weapons were designed by the designers of the famous Almaz-Antey corporation. The development of military technology began in the 2007 year, and this process was led by Ilya Isakov, who occupies the post of chief engineer. The anti-aircraft missile system "Vityaz S 350-2017" will be part of the defense aerospace sector with a certain limitation of tactical capabilities against missiles. This technique is slightly less similar to the C-400, but applies to highly mobile military equipment and uses exactly the same charges as those of the brand 9М96Е2. The effectiveness of such weapons was tested in multi-stage tests not only in Russia, but also abroad.

In addition to the Vityaz air defense missile system, C-400, C-500, C-300E complexes and a device of such short range as the Pantsir will be part of the defense of the aerospace direction.

At the design stage, the Vityaz air defense missile system decided to use the developments for export modification of KM-SAM, which was also developed at the Almaz-Antey bureau and focused on the South Korean market. However, the active stage of development began only when the company managed to win an international tender from French and American competitors. They also developed in terms of air defense systems for Seoul.

Financing of the process was carried out by the customer, which allowed to continue the work on the project in an optimal manner. During this period, most of the defense complex mills survived on the domestic market only due to export orders. Cooperation with Koreans made it possible not only to continue the process of creating a new complex, but also to gain invaluable experience in terms of the further development of modern technologies. This is largely due to the fact that South Korea provided access for Russian designers to the overseas component base and even actively helped them develop. This greatly helped to develop a similar design with a multi-purpose profile.

Appointment and presentation

The first prototype of the Vityaz C350E air defense system was publicly demonstrated in St. Petersburg at the Obukhov combine in 2013 year. Since then, the weapon has been freed from the veil of secrecy. Serial production of air defense missile systems is carried out at the concern Alma-Antey. The main producers are the factory of radio engineering equipment and the state industrial complex in Obukhov.

The new installation can work in self-propelled mode together with a fixed multifunctional radar. In addition, there is a command post based on the main chassis and electronic scanning space. The Vityaz C-350 ADMS uses a new generation of anti-aircraft missiles that combine the best features used in modern rocket production. The component is a high category sleep used in non-traditional projects, research and other design solutions. At the same time, various achievements in innovative technological solutions and materials engineering are applied. The rockets of the “350 Vityaz” air defense missile system differ among themselves by motor units, slaughter at height, maximum flight range and overall performance.

The use of new technologies and an improved engine allows charges to surpass even the French equivalent of Aster. In fact, rockets are solid single-stage elements, unified in composition of on-board devices and other equipment, differing only in engine size. High performance can be achieved through a combination of command and inertial guidance. In this case, there is the effect of increasing maneuverability, which allows you to set up a homing system at the meeting point with the enemy’s intended target. Warheads are equipped with intelligent filling, providing maximum efficiency in the defeat of ballistic and aerodynamic analogues of space and air attack.

Features of the creation of ammunition

For all types of the Vityaz missile in Syria, components with a “cold” vertical launch were used. For this purpose, before the launch of the main engine, the warhead was ejected to a height of up to 30 meters from the working storage, after which it was turned towards the target through a gas-dynamic mechanism.

This decision reduced the distance of the alleged interception. In addition, the system provides excellent charge maneuverability, as well as increases rocket overload by 20 units. The munition in question is aimed at confrontation with the space forces of the enemy and various air objects. The complex is equipped with a 24 kilogram warhead and small-sized equipment, its weight is four times less than the ZUR-48H6, and the general characteristics are not much worse than this charge.

Instead of standard equipment such as 48H6 with a single missile launch, a new anti-aircraft missile system allows you to place a batch charge from the 4 TPK on the launch device (they are compatible with the 9М96Е2 SAM). Targeting ammunition to the target is carried out using an inertial correction system, as well as radio correction with radar GOS at the final point of flight.

The joint control system provides a high level of sighting, which contributes to an increase in the 350 Vityaz air defense missile systems and missiles, and also reduces the dependence of the flight of a charge on external influences. In addition, this design does not require additional lighting and location when following to the intended target.

In the 350 CAS system, Vityaz has the ability to use “advanced” partially active components that can perform target calculations using angular coordinates. The short-range missile charge 9М100 is equipped with an infrared combat homing head, which allows you to capture the target immediately after the launch of the rocket. It not only destroys aerial targets, but also destroys their warhead.

The design office "Fakel" began to create a new air defense system of the type 9М96 in the period 80-s of the XIX century. The duration of the missile flight was provided for at least 50 kg. The anti-aircraft missile system is able to easily maneuver in the presence of serious overloads and to launch charges with the transverse displacement design, which ensured high accuracy of the destruction of targets. An additional effect was provided by automatic targeting warheads. At the same time, the operation of these complexes in the air-to-air format was assumed. The complexes of the “Vityaz” air defense missile system were not so large in size, but at the same time they were not inferior in efficiency. They used 9М100 missiles. The main task assigned to the designer of NATO is the development of unified charges that would strengthen not only the internal defense, but also were excellent for export to other countries of the world.
