Farzin Nadimi, a defense and security expert, gave an interview to Iran International news agency, in which he commented on Iran's recent missile attack on Israel and the effectiveness of Israel's missile defense system. According to him, a significant number of missiles were fired at Israel, most of which were launched directly from Iran.
Nadimi noted that about 10 Iranian missile bases were involved in the attack, with each launching about 20 missiles. He added that while some missiles deviated from their course, a number of them successfully hit their targets.
“One of the reasons for this is probably the use of new types of missiles, such as the Khyber Shahan and Fatah, which have hypersonic speeds and are difficult to intercept even for modern air defense systems,” the analyst emphasized.
These missiles, Nadimi said, are highly accurate and difficult to neutralize, which could allow them to cause significant damage on the ground. While it is impossible to accurately assess the impact of strikes on strategic targets such as aircraft hangars, significant explosions were recorded on the ground, indicating possible damage.
Commenting on the effectiveness of Israel's missile defense system, Nadimi noted that it worked relatively successfully, although it was unable to intercept all the missiles. According to his estimates, about 10% of the missiles fired managed to penetrate the defenses and reach their targets.
"These systems were partially effective, but the exact number of missiles intercepted is not yet known," - The expert added.
