November 23, 2013. The Russian Federation has planned the transfer of 102 new helicopters to the 18nd Russian military base, which is located in Yerevan (Armenia).

The Armenian government approved this decision, and they allocated territory for new air equipment at the Yerevan airport - Erebuni.

Russian base will have a space for helicopters and space for the storage of flammable materials.

In addition to the helicopter squadron, a fighter squadron will also be formed. An agreement with Yerevan for 25 years of cooperation was signed back in 2010.

At the end of the period, the contract will be extended for periods of five years if both parties do not provide a written statement on the refusal to continue cooperation.
