A-50U: the third modernized "flying locator" entered the Russian Air Force

March, 25. The Air Force of the Russian Federation received the third A-50U radar aircraft.

Upgraded and improved aircraft for long-range radar detection, A-50U allows you to efficiently track airspace at a distance of up to 1000 kilometers, thereby enabling you to easily and in advance receive any information about the movement of enemy air forces. All in all, Russia has 22 "flying radar", but at the moment only three aircraft have been modernized, one of which is currently located on the territory of Belarus.

The plane A-50U is a modified version in which the analog components are replaced by electronic systems, and in addition, significantly expanded the zone of military aircraft and flight detection range. If needed, the aircraft can simultaneously track up to 300 any purpose, and send information about them to 12 war fighters.

In the near future it is expected that a few more aircraft will be successfully upgraded and sent for further flight around the territory of Russia and the Union State.
