Domodedovo International Airport will remain without a subway.

The authorities of the capital decided to abandon the construction of a metro station at the Domodedovo International Airport. The objective reason for this is the presence of a rail link, the capacity of which is sufficient to meet the needs of passengers.

“There is a railway branch in this direction, which will be developed, it is enough to provide passenger traffic”, - the deputy mayor for urban planning and construction, Marat Khusnullin, explained.

It should be clarified that the citizens themselves took this news extremely negatively, since the project of building the metro at Domodedovo International Airport was very welcome, and would seriously simplify access to the air harbor.

On the other hand, it became known about plans to begin construction of the metro at Vnukovo International Airport.

“It was decided to build a subway in the village of Vnukovo, to the airport. On this section of the 5,2 kilometer length, two stations will be open - Pykhtino and Vnukovo. ”- emphasized Marat Khusnullin.
