The company "Airbus" is developing an unmanned civil airliner.
At the moment, the resource Avia.pro has information that European aircraft manufacturers are actively working on the design of a fully autonomous passenger liner operated without human assistance. According to Airbus specialists, the main difficulty lies not in implementing this project - if necessary, this can be done within 2-3 years, but in the fact that people still cannot entrust the control of the aircraft to a computer.
It is expected that by 2020, Airbus will present a prototype of an unmanned passenger airliner on the basis of one of its aircraft, and if further tests prove successful, these aircraft can begin to be delivered to direct operators.
