American drone shot down by a Soviet missile R-73

The US Air Force lost its unmanned aerial vehicle.

A few hours ago it became known that the Soviet missile R-73 "Vympel", which ended up in the hands of militants, destroyed an American unmanned aerial vehicle over the province of Parwan (Afghanistan). Despite reports in the US media that the drone fell due to engine problems, the Taliban announced that the drone was in fact shot down by a Soviet R-73 Vympel missile fired from a ground-based launcher.

In the presented photo you can see that the unmanned aerial vehicle literally turned into a pile of scrap metal, and although the name of the military drone is not announced, it should be clarified that most American UAVs can make an emergency landing on the ground, even if the power plant fails.

Earlier, the Vympel R-73 Soviet aircraft missiles were repeatedly used to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular, at the end of December of last year, the Hussites destroyed a Saudi Arabian unmanned aerial vehicle with one of such missiles, although they showed firing drone destruction cadres, although according to an initial statement Saudi Ministry of Defense, drone crashed.
