A search is underway in the Donetsk People's Republic for American military observer Russell Bentley, who went missing several days ago. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic. The military correspondent was last seen in Donetsk, after which all his communications suddenly stopped.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Bentley disappeared on April 8, going in an unknown direction, and since then nothing has been known about his whereabouts. Law enforcement agencies gave a rough description: a man aged 60-65, dressed in camouflage clothing and boots, with gray hair and a heavyset build.

Currently, law enforcement officers are actively searching for the missing journalist and interviewing witnesses who last saw him or spoke with him. The search work is being carried out in conditions of increased danger, since, according to information from the Russian military, foreign correspondents are priority targets for Ukrainian militants.
