Ukrainian state aviation company Antonov refused to name the plane in honor of Stepan Bandera.

According to some reports, the aircraft building company does not want to politicize the release of its aircraft, and in this connection it assumes that the aircraft needs to be given a different, more "peaceful" name, for example, "Dolphin", "Bogdan", etc. Nevertheless, the authors of the proposed titles will not be left to the lot - those who offered the most popular name for the aircraft, the Antonov State Enterprise will offer souvenirs in the form of large-scale aircraft models.

Anyway, experts note the fact that in fact, the future name of the An-178 airplane can be predetermined by the ruling power, and in case this happens, the aircraft can get a politicized name, like "Stepan Bandera", "Cyborg" " etc.
