The FAB-5000 high-explosive bomb will not be equipped with a universal planning and correction module (UMPC), as reported by the head of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (KTRV) Boris Obnosov. This statement was made within the framework of the international military-technical forum Army-2024.
Boris Obnosov clarified that at this stage there are no plans to develop and equip the FAB-5000 UMPC. The main emphasis is on the use of this aerial bomb in its traditional configuration, which has already proven its effectiveness in various military operations. The decision not to equip the bomb with a planning and correction module is due to a number of factors, including the specific requirements for the use of the FAB-5000 and its intended use for certain tasks where high guidance accuracy is not a critical parameter.
The FAB-5000 is a powerful weapon designed to destroy large objects and fortifications. Its main advantage lies in its enormous destructive power, which allows it to effectively hit targets, even in the absence of precise adjustments.
