The organization of air links between Russia and Egypt is still in question.

Despite the fact that the President of the Russian Federation had earlier signed a decree on the resumption of air links between Russia and Egypt, experts believe that the first flights between the two countries will be launched no earlier than the end of February - beginning of March, which is primarily due to the lack of agreements between the two countries flights. In fact, countries need to discuss a number of technical issues related to the resumption of air traffic, while the Egyptian aviation authorities point out that they have already resolved all the issues, however, the Russian side is still not ready to provide all the necessary data.

It should be clarified that the flight connection with Egypt is supposed to be resumed for the first time since 2015, when the passenger liner of MetroJet Airlines was blown up over the Sinai Peninsula, resulting in the death of a 224 person. As part of the investigation, it was established that the explosives were carried on board by a member of a radical terrorist group who was employed at the airport.

For several years, the lack of air links between the two countries, Egypt has lost billions of dollars, and tens of thousands of Russians had to look for other countries for their holidays.
