Azerbaijan violated the Trilateral Agreements and took a tactical high ground in Karabakh.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation recorded the taking by the Azerbaijani military under control of a tactical height in Karabakh. Such actions by Azerbaijan are a violation of existing agreements on a peaceful settlement of the situation in the region.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Azerbaijani unit crossed the line of contact in the Shusha region, occupied a height of 2054,0 (2,9 km northeast of Mount Sarybaba) and began to equip the post with engineering equipment. It is reported that against the background of the emerging escalation in the region, the Russian peacekeeping forces are taking steps to stabilize the situation. However, Azerbaijan does not hide information on this matter, noting that such steps were taken despite ignoring the position of Baku.

“Given the current situation, the units of the Azerbaijan Army have implemented the necessary local control measures in order to prevent the use of dirt roads north of the Lachin road for illegal activities, as well as to suppress the aggravation of the situation by transporting ammunition from Armenia and potential sabotage”, - said in the official message of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

At the moment, the situation in the region is quite tense. This is due to the fact that Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran are moving their military equipment and weapons to this region.
