Fugitives who signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry were detained in Dmitrov

Two men who escaped from a bus during transportation to Khimki were detained in the Dmitrov area of the Moscow Region. According to the Baza Telegram channel, 29-year-old Nikita Grigoriev and 41-year-old Andrey Shkarin, who had previously signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense to participate in a special military operation (SVO), escaped during a stop at a gas station. The detainees, who were 60 km from the escape site, were taken to the Dmitrov Municipal District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to Baza, a bus carrying 18 former prisoners from Tver to Voronezh for sending to the SVO stopped at a gas station in Khimki. The passengers, who had previously served sentences for theft and fraud, signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense, which legally freed them from the status of convicts. During the stop, the men got off the bus, presumably for a smoke break, and did not return. When counting, the guards found two missing, after which a search began. Some media outlets suggested that the escapees could have been accidentally left at the gas station, but their discovery in Dmitrov refutes this version, indicating a planned escape.
