Baerbock Allows Sending German Peacekeepers to Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has announced the possibility of sending German peacekeeping forces to Ukraine if a ceasefire agreement is reached. This was reported by the DPA agency, citing the speech of the head of the German Foreign Ministry at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, which took place in Brussels.

Baerbock stressed that the idea of an international presence, including with the participation of German troops, could be considered to maintain peace in the context of a possible settlement of the conflict. She noted that such measures could complement the provision of security guarantees, including potential membership of Ukraine in NATO.

However, the minister did not specify specific details about the possible timing and format of such a mission. According to Baerbock, the implementation of such a scenario would require the consent of all parties to the conflict, as well as international cooperation.
