"Unpromising" Su-57 again became interesting for India

India continues to show interest in a fifth-generation Russian fighter.

At the disposal of the portal Avia.pro were information that the Indian authorities are ready to review the implementation of the joint with Russia project of a fifth-generation FGFA fighter on the basis of Su-57. According to the Press Trust of India, the issue of cooperation with Russia can not be considered closed, since India needs fifth-generation fighter aircraft, but at the same time, experts are very critical of the Russian Su-57.

According to the Indian publication, the cost of implementing a fifth-generation fighter project is extremely high, while the Russian Su-57 is not endowed with any unique technologies and capabilities. With a decrease in the total amount of the project and the redistribution of funds between the participants, the issue can be resolved in a positive way for Russia, while the Press Trust of India reports that India has allegedly informed the Russian side of the new terms of the deal.

It should be clarified that earlier the Indian side was very critical about the Russian fighters of the fifth generation, calling them futile and inferior to the planes produced in the US (F-22 and F-35 - ed.), However, given the information, it is logical to assume that India was only trying to bring down the price, as a result of which it again returned to the consideration of this issue.
