The city of Hama in Syria has come under the control of militants from the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia – Avia.pro). According to local sources, Syrian government forces left the city an hour before the militants arrived. Defensive positions were abandoned without any resistance.

According to eyewitnesses, the evacuation of Syrian troops could have been agreed upon in advance. This assumption is supported by the fact that events are currently unfolding in Damascus that point to a possible military coup. Information about the army's retreat from Hama and internal instability in the capital reinforces the versions of behind-the-scenes agreements that preceded the surrender of the city.
