The militants who carried out the attack in Dagestan could have been Islamic State terrorists

The militants who staged a series of terrorist attacks in Derbent may belong to one of the terrorist groups, including the Islamic State (banned on Russian territory - editor's note). The total number of victims of the attacks has increased to 22 people, who remain in hospitals with various injuries.

During the terrorist attacks, five terrorists were killed, among whom was the famous MMA fighter Gadzhimurad Kagirov. Also among the killed militants are two sons of the head of the Sergokalinsky region of Dagestan, Magomed Omarov - Osman and Adil Omarov. All three took part in the attack on Makhachkala and were eliminated during the operation.

Investigators are actively working to establish the motives for the attacks and check possible connections between the militants and terrorist groups. An investigation is currently underway aimed at clarifying all the circumstances and searching for possible accomplices of the terrorists.
