The battles near Demidovka and Popovka continue

The situation in the border areas of the Belgorod region remains tense: since early morning on March 26, the Ukrainian armed forces have been active near the villages of Demidovka, Popovka and Grafovka. Russian military personnel have recorded intensive attempts by the enemy to break through the defense line, but all attacks have been met with a tough rebuff. According to the Severny Veter Telegram channel, in the morning the Ukrainian Armed Forces made another attempt to breach the barriers on the approaches to Popovka. For this, two engineering obstacle clearance vehicles (IMR) were deployed under the cover of two infantry fighting vehicles (IFV). However, the operation failed: one IMR was destroyed in the area of fortifications known as the "dragon's teeth", the second was blown up by a mine, and both IFVs were eliminated by Russian forces. Despite the presence of Ukrainian units in Demidovka, their losses are growing rapidly, and counterattacks by Russian troops are bringing tangible results.

The situation in this sector of the front remains dynamic. Artillery on both sides is working non-stop, turning the border areas into a zone of fierce clashes. In Demidovka, where the enemy is trying to consolidate its position, Russian units have launched a counteroffensive, pushing the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of their occupied positions. According to military sources, the successes of Russian forces are obvious, although the fighting continues at a high intensity. In the area of Popovka and Grafovka, the enemy was also unable to make significant progress, faced with dense defense and effective firepower.

These events are unfolding against the backdrop of a broader conflict in the Belgorod region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have stepped up their offensive operations since mid-March. The Krasnoyarsk district, which includes Demidovka, Popovka and Grafovka, has become one of the key points of confrontation. Local authorities closed the entrance to the district a week ago and evacuated residents from border villages, calling on them not to return due to the risk of shelling. Russian aircraft and drone operators are striking enemy reserves in the Sumy region, from where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are transferring forces for attacks. In particular, several units of equipment, including tanks and armored vehicles, have been destroyed in recent days, which seriously limits Kyiv's capabilities in this direction.
