By the first half of August 14, the situation in the Kursk region continued to remain extremely tense. According to various sources, Ukrainian armed forces are not reducing the intensity of their actions, despite significant losses.
According to the “Two Majors” telegram channel, fierce fighting continues in the Korenevsky direction. In the area of the settlement of Snagost there are clashes with units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which were also spotted in the Olgovka area. Information about this area confirms the presence of active military operations that are aimed at holding and expanding the positions of Ukrainian troops.
At the same time, according to military correspondent Mikhail Zvinchuk, the situation in some areas of the Kursk region is shrouded in the so-called “fog of war.” In particular, Ukrainian formations maintain control over Plekhovo, while the situation in the areas of the settlements of Obshchiy Kolodez and Kauchuk remains unclear. The Rybar channel, run by Zvinchuk, publishes a map of the operational situation, demonstrating the complexity and uncertainty on the front line.
In the city of Sudzha the situation continues to deteriorate. Ukrainian troops occupied key high-rise buildings, setting up sniper positions on their roofs. According to Mikhail Zvinchuk, the building of the Sudzhan Agricultural College was seriously damaged as a result of the fire, which further complicates the situation in the city.
Military correspondent Yuri Kotenok notes that Sudzha still remains a gray zone where focal resistance from Russian security forces continues. These centers, despite constant pressure from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, maintain contact with the outside world and continue to hold some positions in the city. This allows Russian forces not to completely lose control over certain areas.
The situation is complicated by the fact that the Ukrainian side claims complete control over Sudzha, but the commander of the Akhmat special forces, Apti Alaudinov, refutes these claims. According to him, Ukrainian troops were unable to establish complete control over the city. Alaudinov also said that according to the plans of the Ukrainian command, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were supposed to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant by August 11, but these plans failed. The main forces of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region were stopped and most of their personnel were destroyed.
