According to the latest data from the front in the Kursk region, the situation as of September 9, 2024 shows signs of the initiative shifting to Russian troops. Military analyst Yuri Podolyaka reported that active actions of the Russian Armed Forces are being recorded in the Korenevo area, where airborne units were able to push Ukrainian forces back 1 km from the settlement along the highway to Sudzha.

The counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to him, was suppressed at the preparation stage. The enemy assault group was destroyed with the help of UAV crews at the moment of their concentration. This event became key in holding Russian positions in this section of the front.

In other areas, there is also an increase in the activity of the Russian Armed Forces. After a successful defense against recent attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Nechayev-Berdin line, Russian troops began advancing in the areas of Russkoye and Cherkasskoye Porechny, as well as Martynovka. It is obvious that the Russian command is trying to align the front in its favor, improving positions for further operations.

The initiatives of the Russian army in these areas, according to analysts, indicate that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing the ability to effectively counterattack. It is also worth noting that the active use of unmanned aerial vehicles by Russian troops continues to play an important role in suppressing enemy attacks and destroying their equipment on the front lines.
