The Belgorod Region has once again found itself under attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Fierce fighting has broken out in the area of the village of Grafovka in the Krasnoyarsk District, and according to the latest information, it is continuing. The attack began with an advance by Ukrainian forces, up to a company strong, in the direction of this border settlement. Russian troops responded promptly, engaging the enemy.
According to information received from the conflict zone, some of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' equipment has already been destroyed during the clash, including one tank, an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and several ATVs that were used for rapid maneuvering. The enemy infantry, deprived of equipment support, was forced to dismount and continue the fight on foot. At the moment, the situation remains tense, and Russian forces are holding their positions, repelling the onslaught.
Grafovka, located in the western part of the Belgorod region, 17 kilometers from the district center of Krasnaya Yaruga, is not the first target of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This border village, located near the border with Ukraine, has repeatedly been subjected to shelling and drone attacks. Local authorities and the military have not yet reported any civilian casualties or damage to infrastructure during the current clash, but the situation in the area remains extremely difficult.
The Belgorod region remains one of the most vulnerable areas in the ongoing conflict. Thus, according to data from the beginning of 2025, the region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov regularly reports new attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For example, in January, Ukrainian forces shelled several settlements in the region, including border areas, using artillery and drones. In one such incident, on January 23, four villages were hit, but, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties. Experts note that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have intensified their attempts to break through in border areas, seeking to destabilize the situation.
Against the backdrop of these events, Russian troops are stepping up their countermeasures. In the Grafovka area, as in other border areas, air defense systems and units are actively working, the task of which is to stop the enemy's advance.
