British fighters landed a passenger airliner of the airline "Ryanair".

On the eve of the day, when the airline Ryanair carried out a flight from Kaunas to London, the British Air Force fighter aircraft took to the air in order to intercept and escort the passenger liner. The main reason for the raising of combat aircraft in the air was the information received by the Lithuanian authorities that a bomb was on board the flight, while the commander of the crew of the Ryanair flight was given a strict order to follow the established route.

In the end, the information that there was a bomb on board was disproved, however, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a protest against the UK, as there was a real threat of destroying the aircraft with Lithuanian citizens.
