It became known about the interception of Russian fighters over the Baltic.

According to data provided by the Polish news outlet Defense24, a few days earlier, in the skies over the Baltic Sea, a pair of Polish F-16 fighters, armed with military equipment, intercepted Russian Su-35 and Su-27 fighters. The incident took place in the skies over the Baltic Sea, while, according to the publication, this was the first for the Polish Air Force to intercept Russian Su-35 fighters.

“Two Polish F-16Cs operating as part of the Baltic Air Police mission were lifted from the Estonian Ämari base to intercept the formation of Russian aircraft flying over the Baltic Sea. As it turned out, it was a Tu-134 passenger plane flying to the Kaliningrad region accompanied by military vehicles. Polish fighters were selected for flight in accordance with the decision of the Center for Combined Air Operations. This was their first battle since they took up their duties three weeks earlier. Polish planes escorted suspicious targets to the airspace of the Kaliningrad Region ”, - the newspaper reports.

Nevertheless, such information caused a lot of bewilderment among specialists, and the statement of the Polish Air Force was called unreliable.

“What kind of interception in international airspace can we talk about?” Perhaps the F-16s really approached the Russian military aircraft, however, it is logical to assume that this was done with the permission of the Russian air forces, because otherwise, the same Su -35 could have driven Polish fighters across the Baltic ”, - the expert marks.
