“Now that the C-300 complexes have appeared in Syria’s arsenal, the likelihood that such a tragedy will repeat is extremely small. Nevertheless, the destruction of the Russian aircraft and the death of the 15 man most likely could have been avoided if Vladimir Kozhin, the assistant to the president of the Russian Federation, had earlier “seen the need to supply these air defense systems” to the Syrian army’s weapons ”, - the expert marks.

It should be clarified that in May of this year Vladimir Kozhin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for military-technical cooperation, said that Syria has all the means to ensure the safety of its airspace.

"So far, there is no talk of any supply of modern new systems."- Kozhin said in an interview with Izvestia, stressing that Syria "has everything it needs."
