Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Russia, Iran and Syria must take stronger measures to protect Syria's territorial integrity. His remarks came amid Israel's recent strike on Damascus, which Erdogan called a threat not only to the region but to global stability.
"We are in favor of urgent and sustainable peace in Syria. Israel is the most concrete threat to peace both in the region and in the world," Erdogan said in an interview with Turkish media.
In his opinion, Israel's actions create a significant threat to Syria and the situation requires more active steps from key players in the region.
In his statement, the Turkish President stressed the need for Russia, Iran and Syria to take more effective measures to counter actions that could threaten the sovereignty and integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. Erdogan also noted that the settlement of the Syrian conflict is one of the priorities for Turkey and a key element in ensuring long-term stability in the Middle East.
