The Investigative Committee of Russia has begun an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting of a Russian serviceman, a video of which was published online by militants of the Azov battalion, which is banned and recognized as terrorist in Russia. This was reported in the press service of the department.
A video recording of the moment of execution of a Russian soldier caused widespread public outcry and a storm of indignation in Russian social networks and the media. The Investigative Committee promised to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the incident in order to establish all the circumstances of what happened and bring those responsible to justice.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the report of the shooting, said:
"Fascists are fascists, they must be destroyed."
This statement reflects the tough position of the Russian leadership regarding the Azov militants and their actions on the territory of Ukraine.
