The Philippines will receive an aircraft carrier from the United States.

November 12 2013. The aircraft carrier "George Washington" will be sent to the Republic of the Philippines to support the rescue operations and the recovery of all the work after the typhoon struck, "Yolanda."

The US Secretary of Defense was ordered to conduct humanitarian operations to help the Philippines, in which the US Air Force will participate.  

Before the arrival point, the aircraft carrier will stay in Hong Kong 5 days. Details of an operation were not disclosed.

The United States will send equipment to rescue and search for victims and helicopters for transportation and evacuation.

I think the US did the right thing, that they sent such a military vessel to the aid.
Large powerful with large displacement, the soldiers of the Navy and air force on board it really be able to provide assistance to the victims of the Effectiveness of this terrible disaster.
