The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine introduced a ban on the movement of all categories of persons in the 20-kilometer zone of the Sumy region, which borders the Kursk region of Russia. This decision was made against the backdrop of increased intensity of hostilities in the border areas.

The ban applies to both local residents and any other persons located in the region. The Ukrainian authorities emphasize that such measures are aimed at preventing possible incidents and protecting people’s lives.

Experts believe that such actions by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may be caused by the concentration of Ukrainian forces in border areas with the aim of subsequent attacks on the border regions of Russia.
