The region of Belarus bordering Ukraine is ready to be placed under martial law

Deputy head of the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Khudoleev announced the readiness of the Gomel region, bordering Ukraine, to be placed under martial law. The BelTA agency reported this. During the inspection of regional civil defense formations, Khudoleev emphasized that the region is ready to function in wartime conditions.

“There are a number of adjustments that require prompt intervention, so we will develop management decisions and adopt appropriate regulations that will allow us to generally implement and ensure functioning and interaction during the period of preparation and transfer to a military footing.”,” Khudoleev explained.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that similar training with the participation of authorities, medical institutions, enterprises providing communications, food supplies, fuel and medicines had already taken place in the other two Belarusian regions. These activities are aimed at strengthening preparedness and responsiveness in the face of a possible crisis.

The inspection showed a high degree of readiness of the Gomel region for a rapid transition to martial law, which includes coordinated interaction of various structures and services. Khudoleev noted the importance of such training to maintain stability and ensure the safety of the population in difficult conditions.
