The cargo airliner of the American airline made an emergency landing at the international airport Portland because of a collision with birds.

The incident with the American aircraft occurred in 5 hours 30 minutes Moscow time, and it became known that a clash with a flock of birds occurred almost immediately after the attempted take-off. The entry of birds into the aircraft caused problems with the engine, so the aircraft commander requested an emergency landing.

The engine of the cargo airliner did not ignite, however, for safety reasons near the runway, which was landing, the plane was already waiting for firefighting calculations.

After a thorough inspection of the aircraft, five birds were found in the engine, which caused malfunctions.
