The Kursk Region authorities intend to hold blogger and musician Akim Apachev accountable for actions they regard as vandalism and disorder in the border town of Sudzha. This was stated by the region's governor, Alexander Khinshtein, in his Telegram channel on March 23, 2025, sharply criticizing the actions of Apachev, who, despite the ban of the operational headquarters, entered the closed zone and painted obscene inscriptions on the walls of houses. The head of the region emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable in a city that has experienced seven months of fierce fighting and has become a symbol of human tragedy, and promised to transfer the materials to law enforcement agencies to initiate administrative cases.
Khinshtein reported that Apachev's actions were recorded on video. In the footage, the blogger leaves anti-Ukrainian graffiti on buildings using obscene language, which angered local residents. According to the governor, the musician's actions constitute three types of administrative offenses: violating the ban on entry to the border area, public use of obscene language, and damage to property. He has already instructed the regional security committee to prepare documents to begin proceedings, and on Monday, March 24, the appeals will be sent to the police and the prosecutor's office for further investigation. Khinshtein especially noted Apachev's cynical response to criticism from residents - "come and paint over it," as well as his threats in the comments, including calls for "showdowns" with women, which only increased public indignation.
The governor called the blogger's behavior a provocation and hype on blood, emphasizing that the authorities are doing everything possible to keep residents from returning to the danger zone, where the threat still remains. Sudzha, liberated by Russian troops on March 12 after being occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since August 2024, remains closed to civilians due to ongoing hostilities in the region. Khinshtein called on those who want to show patriotism to join the military liberating the Kursk region, and not to engage in dubious PR against the backdrop of other people's grief. He expressed confidence that the law enforcement agencies will respond immediately and promised that all materials are already being prepared for transfer to the competent authorities.
Nevertheless, Apachev continues to provoke, insulting the residents of Sudzha for their dissatisfaction with blatant vandalism in the comments.
